Truth to be told, I can't remember that nursery rhyme at all. Sometimes, I wonder whether some of the nursery rhymes are age appropriate, or are they just gore masquerading as a nursery rhymes. Things like how humpty dumpty could never be put together again after falling.

Anyway, this is a little shop in the Tanjong Pagar area at ICON Village. It's really quiet during the weekends because who would go to Tanjong Pagar on weekends? The eatery is really small and can fit less than 20 people. But the decor of this place is really interesting. Loved the quirky posters hung around the shop!

We ordered the Aglio Oglio with Bacon and Ham ($9.90). Not a fan of bacon because I find it too salty, but the spaghetti was cooked al dente and aromatic because of the garlic. Not too oily as well, just right.

This is the dish that my sister kept raving about. This is the Traditional Beer Battered Fish and Chips ($11.90). It comes into two sizes, small or large. I recommend you get the large and share it, and order another dish. Because the portion is really quite big.

Fish and Chips is the kind of dish which you either make or break it. And it was the former here. Look at how beautifully deep fried it is. Sure, it's oily. But, find me a fish and chips which is not oily. And the fish meat was smooth, and doesn't feel like it's going to get stuck in your teeth. I have eaten fish (in the fish and chips) so tough that it totally ruins the experience of eating fish and chips.

This is the Banana Fritters ($6.90), served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. It's basically goreng pisang with caramel goodness over it.

The only thing I did not appreciate about my lunch today was the fact that it was a little too oily. But, who do I have to blame? Only myself, really. There are so many other healthier food options you could turn to!

The great thing about this small little cosy place is that it's so unpretentious and it's really worth it. Imagine getting fish and chips at this price in the middle of CBD! Well, you could probably get it at Manhattan Fish Market but still, no harm giving this place a try! Plus, there's no GST and service charge. And the guys at the shop gave us an extra plate to share the fish and ships, gave all of us water, and were pretty friendly - all these at no service charge!
