It's rare that the closing of a McDonald's branch can make so many people emotional about it. But here in East Coast Park, Singapore, it is the collection of memories of generations that make it so very special. The children who used to patronise this place are now parents, bringing their own children here. The countless times we used to eat at this branch after a cycling trip, or after a run. It's not about the food, but about the company you hang out with, the warmth that radiates from families and the embodiment of literally a "happy meal".
